Welcoming Party of Newly Arrived Student in Canberra
With a view to make newly arrived students feel comfortable and inviting, the Cambodian Student Association in Canberra (CSAC) organised a welcoming party on February 16, 2013 which was actively assisted by active members and advisors, students and Khmer community in Canberra. The party was organised at Canberra University’s International House, the first time ever that the party of CSAC is celebrated in UC Campus.
The number of participants has turned out even though there was a change in proposed venue. The total of participants was 43 including students, representatives from Khmer community and a representative from Cambodian Embassy. During the event, there was speech from CSAC President and Vice-Presedent and President of Cambodian Community in Canberra.
The total expenditure during the party was AUD 405.8 and the CSAC has contributed AUD 93.80 to the expenditure of the party, while the rest (AUS 312) was contributed by 24 students.
What is noticeable, the Cambodian Embassy has contributed AUD 100 to the CSAC. If it is not mistaken, it is the first time that the embassy has generously contributed to SCAC.
The party was ended by group dancing and many other talking activities.
