Students to Join ACC Table Tennis Tournament

Four players from Cambodia will play in a pair with another Asian country in this event, which is organised by Asian Embassies to Australia.

If you are around, feel free to come along and cheer our team players.

Date/Time: Saturday, 31 October 2009, 8.45 am – 2.00 pm

Venue: Southern Cross Woden Basketball Centre

Order of Events

8.55 am                 :       Opening remarks by H.E. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tan,

Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

9.00 am         :       Matches begin.

11.00 am       :       Lunch break.

1.40 pm         :       Matches expected to be finished.

1.50 pm         :       Closing remarks by H.E. Mr. Adnan Jaafar, High

Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam.

Prize presentation ceremony.

Group photo session.

Note: Referees are requested to arrive as early as possible for a pre-match briefing and must report to committee table prior to each match to receive score sheet and court assignment.

Match Types

  • Double matches and single knockout system.
  • Play until 21 points, best 2 out of 3.
  • Pairings are mixed by countries and randomly selected (Refer to attached chart).
  • Category types are as follows:
  1. Men’s Doubles (Executive)
  2. Women’s Doubles (Executive)
  3. Men’s Doubles (Open)
  4. Women’s Doubles (Open)
  • Refer to attached ‘Laws of Table Tennis’ (taken from the International Table Tennis Federation Handbook 2009-2010) for further information.


  • Cost of trophies, sports centre and table tennis tables hire, and table tennis balls will be co-shared by all ASEAN missions. Players will need to bring own paddles/rackets.


  • Light lunch and refreshments will be provided by Vietnam Embassy and Brunei High Commission. Other ASEAN missions are welcome to bring own food and drinks as well.
